Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum

 

The contribution of the University of Khartoum as the pioneer of university education in Africa and the Middle East and its involvement in the development of the Sudan can not be underestated. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Khartoum is Sudan's oldest and largest medical faculty undertaking teaching and research in health and medicine of international standards. Kitchener School of Medicine was established, in the year 1924, in the memory of Lord H. Kitchener, the Governor General of the Sudan from the year 1898 to 1900.The first batch graduated from Kitchener School of Medicine in the year 1928 & till now 81 batches have graduated. The Faculty of Medicine offers both post-graduate and under-graduate studies. The Faculty offers courses for first degrees leading to the following qualifications: The Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B,B.S) of the University of Khartoum.
